Isha Yoga

Yoga literally means Union.

It shows you that you are Not your Body and Not even you Mind. Your Body is just an accumulation of food and Your Mind is just an accumulation of Impressions. You are Not all that you have gathered Physically and Menatlly. Your Body and Mind belong to You but can never ever be You. Yoga allows you distance Yourself from your Body and Mind. When you experience that Space in- between you experience the Source of Creation itself. That is called Union. When you are the Source of creation you become Free of Suffering. Suffering can only happen Physically and Mentally however if you no longer falsely identify with your Body and Mind then you don’t identify with their Suffering.

When you do Yoga your Body and Mind take instruction from you not the other way round. When your Energies are Aligned with daily practice of Yoga your Intelligence works fully for You rather than against you. You can Engineer you own Bliss and Joy to live life to the fullest.

Nothing becomes an obstacle in Life because Yoga enhances your Responsibility to Life. Responsibility literally means your Ability to Respond. You become Response-Able for Everything. You cannot always control what goes on Outside but you can Always control what goes on Inside. If something difficult  or challenging happens on the Outside, by being Responsible for it it gives you choices in how to Respond. You have a choice of Responding appropriately rather than reacting compulsively.

‘Who you are is your making. Once you understand this , you must at least make yourself to your own liking’ Sadhguru

If done with full commitment and discipline Yoga can have the potential to completely transform your life.

The best way to start in Yoga is with ‘Isha Kriya’ meditation and ‘Upa Yoga’.

Isha Kriya

Isha Kriya is a simple yet potent process rooted in the timeless wisdom of the yogic sciences. Offered by Sadhguru, it has the potential to transform the life of anyone willing to invest just 12 minutes a day.

Isha Kriya is a simple yet powerful tool to move from untruth to Truth. – Sadhguru

The purpose of Isha Kriya is to help an individual get in touch with the source of their existence, to create life according to their own wish and vision. Daily practice of Isha Kriya helps brings Health, Dynamism, Peace and Wellbeing. It is a powerful Tool to cope with the hectic pace of modern life.

Today, for most people, the word “Yoga” usually conjures up images of twisting the body into impossible postures. The physical aspect of Yoga is only one facet of this Multi-Dimensional Science. Yoga is a Technology to bring the Body and Mind to the Peak of their Capabilities – allowing one to live Life to the Fullest.

It is Sadhguru’s vision to offer “one drop of spirituality” to every individual. Through the Isha Kriya guided meditation, the possibilities of a spiritual process can now be offered to every human being in the comfort of their own home.(Source:isha,sadhguru.org)

Please Note: If one is to practice Physical Yoga (Upa Yoga) in combination with Meditation (Isha Kriya) its best to do both practices first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. It is recommended to take a lukewarm/cold shower before as it wakes you up and makes you more receptive. After your shower begin with Upa Yoga (see below) then finish with Isha Kriya Meditation.

Do this for 48 days as this is considered a Full Mandala. The practices become fully integrated into your system after this short period of commitment. It is necessary to do Isha Kriya twice a day for the 48 days. After completing the 48 days once daily is sufficient to receive its full benefits. If one wants to take their practices further and go deeper into Yoga they should do the ‘Inner Engineering’ course online offered by Sadhguru. Please see below for more information.

More advanced Classical Hatha Yoga Practices can be learnt such as

- Angamardana,

- Surya Kriya

- Yogasanas

- Bhuta Shuddi

A summary of what theses practices are and what they can do can be viewed below in the Hatha Yoga section. These practices must be taught in Person by a Trained Hatha Yoga Teacher. I learnt all of these Hatha Yoga practices at the Isha Yoga Centre in London. Hatha Yoga can take your Yoga to the next level and dimension.

It is a good starting point for those who are new to yoga, and can be used as a preparation for other yoga practices. Based on a sophisticated understanding of the body’s mechanics.

‘Upa-Yoga lubricates the joints, exercises the muscles, and activates your energy nodules. You will feel a higher level of alertness. - Sadhguru’
